Shelly Plus 2PM wiring question

The 'USER AND SAFETY GUIDE‘ for Shelly’s Plus 2PM model states:

For AC circuits connect both L terminals to the Live cable and the N terminal to the Neutral cable.

It appears that the two L terminals are internally bridged, so the electricians only used one of these L terminals, which seams plausible to me. Does anyone know why the guide insists you connect both terminals?
