Automating a window AC unit

Simply put I'd like to automate my window AC unit with a temp sensor to act like a thermostat for it. At the moment I am using Refoss smart plug that does allow me to turn the AC unit on and off while having a Home Pod as a hub. What would you recommend for a temp sensor for easy interrogation and control with Homekit while easy to automate with the Homekit app.
