Specific reminder of weekday?

This might be the wrong subreddit but the Google Assistant/Home subreddit didn't appear to offer "outside the box" solutions.

I work hours and today I messed up; I was 100% sure it was Thursday... It's Friday and I missed work. First time this has ever happened but I'm appalled.

I want to set a reminder every weekday that tells me it is a weekday and also which specific day it is.

The Google Assistant doesn't seem to offer this specific feature and only repeats pre-written statements.

Is there any add-ons to Google Home or some other kind of smart device that offers this within a reasonable sum (100€ / 100$ / 85£)?

My own research hasn't given me many potential solutions.
