Independent control of bathroom and bedroom lights

Hi, not quite sure if this is an automation question but seemed close and was hoping somebody could help me. I bought a condo a little while ago and it has a single bathroom which can be accessed from the hall or through the walk through closet in the bedroom. My issue is that the light in the closet (it is the only light in the bedroom) turns on and off with the bathroom lights. When I got the place this was fine because it was just me but now I have a partner that has been staying over often so if one of us has to use the bathroom in the night or the morning it also turns on the bedroom light. There is a light switch in both the bedroom and the bathroom.

My current idea is seeing if I can use smart bulbs and if the current is always on and using different remotes attached to the wall or something for the different rooms. I just have no experience with smart lightbulbs and was wondering if anyone knows if this is feasible? I don't think I can rewire it without opening some walls so this seemed like an easy fix. Plus would be nice to then be able to control the bedroom light from my phone or google home.
