1 remote control for both HA in docker container and Kodi as systemd service?

Hi, I have Home Assistant running as a docker container. I also have Kodi running as a systemd service.

I have a remote control that worked out of the box with Kodi. I'm thinking that it would be great to map some buttons to HA to toggle some switches.

I'm not sure how to approach this. Entirely dedicating the remote to HA sounds easy, but I'm not sure how to let HA see just some buttons but not the other ones? How would you approach this?
