Can I use many zigbee devices from different brands ?

Hello everyone !

I'm super new to the world of home automation, and I've always been wondering if, for example, I want to buy philips hue lights, Xiaomi robot hover, and so on smart stuff from different brands, that all works with zigbee. Will I be able to make them work together with only ONE hub ?

When I'm looking around on the internet, I might find that YES, it works, but the examples of it are quite non existant, so I can never be sure of that...
